Esra Soytürk’s small-scale work titled “Gossip” explores one of the most fragile and complex aspects of communication in a simple yet striking manner. The glances at the center of the composition reveal a hidden tension and mental conflict. This state of closeness symbolizes the uncontrolled spread created by the lack of distance.

The use of oil paint on paper enhances the emotional intensity with its layered surface effect, while the balance of dark and light tones emphasizes the dual nature of gossip. Each figure represents a different attitude, while the overall piece draws attention to the psychological effects of social interaction.
