Esra Soytürk’s work titled “Giant” explores the formal and psychological representations of power through a grotesque yet playful giant figure. With disproportionate limbs, striking eyes, and elongated arms, this figure represents not only physical but also perceptual motion. The figure, in contact with the sea, engages the viewer in a silent dialogue, resembling an entity dwelling in the depths of the subconscious.

Created with acrylic on paper, the artwork combines lines and colors to form a narrative reminiscent of comic book aesthetics. While one foot of the figure reaches into the water, the other extends beyond the frame, suggesting that it represents a thought or existence too vast to be contained. “Giant” serves as a visual metaphor for the human quest for balance, embodying both fear and charm.
