“Mourning” makes an inward silence and the fragility of the human soul visible through dense layers of lines. In this work, Esra Soytürk transcends the boundaries of the human face, offering a journey into the unseen depths of emotions.

The world closed off by the figure’s eyelids merges with the surrounding red tones, reflecting an inner explosion—a kind of silent scream—to the viewer. The color transitions in the lower section suggest that the mourning process is not only dark but also filled with transformation.
