Esra Soytürk’s small-scale artwork titled “Turmoil” presents an intense atmosphere where mental chaos and suppressed images intertwine. The overlapping faces and forms layered one over the other represent the noise and disorientation caused by inner crowds. The green figure in the background appears as a silent observer, a fragment of consciousness watching from outside this commotion.

The use of mixed media on paper lends the piece a strong expression in terms of both texture and depth. The contrast in colors reflects the emotional oscillations, while the central figure conveys a sense of a self crushed amidst the chaos. In this work, Soytürk boldly makes visible the turmoil of emotions and the mental accumulations shaped by societal or individual pressures.
